Mercedes-Benz A124 300CE-24

The A124 convertible is one of the most desired versions of the popular, mid-range Mercedes-Benz. In September of 1991, at the IAA Frankfurt motor show, the 5th body type of the mid-range Mercedes was revealed. Why did the clients have to wait for the car for 6 years? 

Mercedes had to engineer over 1,000 new parts to stiffen the chassis of the car. In the case of all the construction elements, thicker or more durable steel was used. Over 130 kg of additional weight was necessary to compensate for the 28 kg of the coupe roof. It was more than worth it because the body, in its steering stiffness, is close to the saloon version and still safe. For the first time in 20 years, Mercedes-Benz offered a 4-seater convertible.
