“In the year 1989, during the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz revealed the next generation in the SL family, the R129 series. This model hit the niche and soon the manufacturer’s production capabilities were fully covered. The R129 set the new standards for style, performance, and safety. No sooner than a year after the SL reveal, the R129 was received the “Car Design Award”.  

Today it is still a car not too modern for a classic, but classic enough to held this name. Comfortable and safe convertible with a hardtop – the R129 SL is a typical two in one.  

Why do we love the R129 500 SL? For the Bruno Sacco’s timeless design. For the V8 engine, that will please the driver not only with the performance, but also with the sound. For a great chassis, which combined with the engine, makes the SL 500 a cult-classic sports car.  

1993, european-spec, R129 500 SL with the classic M119 V8 engine. Classic Mercedes - Benz colour combination of Brilliant Silver Mettalic over grey interior. All brake pads and discs were replaced for new ones. Car comes with an original, spare roof key, a hardtop with new headliner and original radio unit, as well as four sets of keys. This SL is well documented with an original service book. The original instructions set as well as the draft deflector also remaigned with the car. Registered in the European Union.
