Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9 (W116)

In May 1975, Mercedes-Benz presented the 450 SEL 6.9. This new top model in the series and true successor to the 300 SEL 6.3 was equipped with the powerful 6.9-litre V8 engine. The M100 engine was drilled to a capacity of 6.9 litres and retrofitted with a dry sump and K-Jetronic mechanical injection. Developed from the highly successful 6.3-litre unit, achieved an output of 286 hp. The hydro-pneumatic suspension with self-levelling – featured for the first time in a Mercedes-Benz passenger car – guaranteed the highest driving comfort.

Other special equipment included in the standard specification for the top-of-the-range model were the central locking system, air-conditioning and a headlamp wash/wipe system. As was the case with its direct predecessor, the 450 SEL 6.9 proved an immediate success; despite its high price.

The car offered by Legends has been imported from Japan. The car is corrosion-free and in very good mechanical condition. The adjustable suspension works smoothly and perfectly adjusts the height of the car. Extras that add charm to this model include: the AMG steering wheel and AMG Penta wheels.
