The Geneva International Motor Show in March 1989 was the perfect venue for Mercedes-Benz to present its new member of the SL family from the R 129 series. The reaction of the audience was immediate and very positive. It was so positive that the planned annual production capacity of 20,000 units was soon exceeded.
The vehicle designed by Bruno Sacco received the "Car Design Award". The modern, comfortable and safe SL was quickly face-lifted.
In 1993, the two three-litre models were replaced by the new SL 280 and SL 320, whereas AMG presented the SL 60 AMG. The latter, equipped with the most powerful 381hp M119 E engine, was produced from April 1996 to May 1998.
The Mercedes SL 60 AMG R129 offered by Legends in a beautiful Green Black Metalic colour, can amaze with its performance. Under the hood you will find a modified M119 engine with a capacity of 6 litres and 8 cylinders. Powerful experience and a top speed of up to 300 km/h are supported by the weight lower by 150 kg than in case of the SL 600, which translates into better handling. It is also an interesting choice from a collector's point of view. It was the first model to be offered by Mercedes as a factory-made AMG car, developed by the independent tuner.
