The Mercedes 190 E 2.3 16V W201 was created a result of collaboration with Cosworth, a famous engineering company and it became a base for DTM racing cars. The British engineers took the standard 2.3-litre, 8-valve engine and upgraded it to obtain better results. After first successes, the motorsports specialists decided to go even further. In 1988, they created the 190 E 2.5-16 version, available both in road and racing versions.
Mercedes 190 2.5-16 W201 is distinguished by aerodynamic features, lowered suspension and original rims. However, it's not the appearance, but mechanical parameters that make this car unique. Its 195 hp, 16-valve engine was able to accelerate the lightweight Baby Benz up to 235 km/h. A hydraulic self-levelling system called Nivo is installed on the rear axle. Even the automatic transmission provides driving pleasure. It is a track toy and a real rarity, as only 5743 vehicles were produced.
The one offered by Legends is imported from Germany and is in great visual condition. The mileage of more than 130,000 kilometres is not noticeable inside the car. The car is comfortably equipped, including air-conditioning, electric front seats, electric windows, sunroof and even cruise control. Black leather upholstery is in good condition, it has no cracks and scuffs. The suspension works properly and the car body shows no signs of corrosion. Cosworth has been registered in Poland for the last few years.
